The opportunity to play lacrosse for Cedarcrest Lacrosse Club is a privilege that is accompanied by the responsibility to conduct oneself in a manner consistent with the ideals of this organization. Foremost among these ideals are Sportsmanship and Integrity. Those choosing not to act in accordance with these ideals will be subject to disciplinary action up to and including dismissal from the team.
Cedarcrest Lacrosse does not discriminate based on race, color, religion (creed), gender, gender expression, age, national origin (ancestry), disability, marital status, sexual orientation, or military status, in any of its activities or operations. These activities include, but are not limited to, player recruitment and development, athletic practices and competition, selection of volunteers and vendors, hiring and firing of staff, and provision of services. We are committed to providing an inclusive and welcoming environment for all members of our organization including, but not limited to, athletes, coaches, volunteers, vendors, and families.
Players are expected to respect everyone involved in the game.
- Be courteous and respectful to opponents.
- Respect the integrity and judgment of the officials and accept their decisions without question.
- Respect the efforts of your teammates and treat them in a positive manner.
- Respect yourself by maintaining a positive attitude and giving your complete effort.
- Win or Lose with dignity.
Players are expected to attend all practices and games. Regular attendance by all players is necessary for the development of the individuals and the team.
Players are expected to maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 and be in good standing with their school. Suspension from school will result in suspension from the team until the player has been reinstated.
Alcoholic beverages, drugs, and Chemical Substances
A player may not possess, use, sell, be under the influence of, or show evidence of having used any alcoholic beverage, or other drugs or controlled substances other than properly used over the counter medications or medications prescribed by a physician. This also includes attending and remaining at an event where consumption of any of the above mentioned substances by a minor(s) occurs. The first violation of this will result in the suspension of the player for the rest of the season. A player who seeks and receives help for a problem with the use of a controlled substance may request reinstatement to the team, after a minimum two week suspension, pending approval of the Cedarcrest Lacrosse Club Board of Directors. A second violation will result in dismissal from the team. The player may only be eligible in subsequent seasons by approval of the Board of Directors.
Tobacco
The possession and/or use of tobacco products will result in a minimum of one week suspension from the team. A second violation will result in a minimum of 5 weeks suspension from the team. A third violation will result in dismissal from the team. Upon successful completion of a nicotine treatment program and proof that a player has discontinued the use of tobacco products a player may request reinstatement by the CLAX Board of Directors.
Players who commit unlawful acts or engage in delinquent behavior may be subject to disciplinary action up to and including suspension from the team.
Alleged violations of this code will be investigated by the coach and/or Board of Directors. Sanctions will be imposed if the evidence suggests the alleged violations did indeed occur.
