CLAX does maintain some loaner equipment.  This might be a good option for new players.  Please reach out to board@cedarcrestlacrosse.com with questions.

Lacrosse is a contact sport, requiring gear noted in the picture below (see list of retailers below picture).

For additional information and the very latest in rules and required equipment see the US Lacrosse website.

HELMET

Note - If buying a new helmet, CLAX recommends getting white*.

* We offer the official / required high school matte-gray helmets for purchase. These are not required for youth teams.

SHOULDER/CHEST PADS

US Lacrosse has issued a new standard (2021-2022) to further prevent Commotio Cordis - an often lethal disruption of heart rhythm that occurs as a result of a blow to the area directly over the heart. Although rare, it is great to see our governing body take such a proactive stance in requiring this new design. What this means to you as  a parent or player:

  • Beginning in 2021, only a goalkeeper chest protector designed for lacrosse that incorporates the NOCSAE ND200 standard will be legal for play and shall contain an SEI certification mark.
  • Beginning in 2022, field players must wear protectors for commotio cordis that meet the NOCSAE ND200 standard and contain an SEI certification mark.
